After my initial phone call with Stephanie Mitchell of Grapevine Educational Consulting, I knew she was the key piece that had been missing as we considered transition planning. We were looking to place our high-functioning, neuro-diverse son into the “right” gap year program.  The stress of junior and senior year had everyone so frazzled; and then we met Stephanie.  Stephanie was able to quickly hone in on our son’s unique profile, generate a list of strong options for us to consider and guide us through the application and interview process.  The gap year program for our son was the perfect fit! He has thrived in a way I thought impossible. In addition to his gap year program, Stephanie also provided us with wise counsel on the college freshman year transition.  She suggested a wonderful support program that we will be using for our son in the fall when he starts his freshman year.  Frankly, my only regret is that we did not meet Stephanie until so late in the process for us.  It would have been wonderful to have her valuable insights throughout the high school years and lead up to college planning/selection.

It was easy to work with Stephanie. She had a great understanding of my needs as well as my strengths and weaknesses. I'm a procrastinator by nature, so she lit a fire under me when I needed it. I was working and attending a community college and looking to transfer to a four-year university when we worked together. She took my workload into consideration for deadlines, which helped immensely. She'll never give you more work than you can handle, and she'll always be there to help.

Stephanie really cares and works hard for her students going to college. Being successful in college is key, and if it were not for working with Stephanie to help find the school that fit me best, I would not be as successful as I am today. Working with Stephanie will give the future college student confidence in going to college and confidence heading into the real world. She helps you realize that at the right-fit college, you can be as, if not more successful than any other student - including those who not have learning disabilities.

Stephanie's communication skills and attention to detail are second to none! I recommend her often to parents of neurodiverse high school students who are looking for a unique program for their child.
